Here’s Carson’s costume that I made from scratch! if you don’t know who’s Starman, starman is one of the pro-wrestling game. If you’re born in the 70s or 80s, you might recall this game, it was so famous from the first generation Nintendo.

Alot of things happened during the weekend. We went back to Carson’s parents house for Thanksgiving, and the Oke, Mel, Petra and Mel’s mom joined us for the thanksgiving (we had awesome food!! yumm turkey..). It was fun seeing all of them… especially seeing my Niece, Petra, she’s so adorable and quiet. All she does is sleep, eat, and poop (she’s 6 weeks old now). I will post pictures later tonight.
Yesterday me & Oke’s family went shopping around Ames, bumped into my indo friends 3 times (yeap.. 3 times..) first we went to BestBuy, Wal-Mart, Mall, and Target. A Day after thanksgiving is what we call Black Friday here, stores open around 5 am… and they have door buster speacials usualy from 5-11am. And yes people actually got up to wait in-line to shop for Christmas. They usually have bunch of good deals, even sometimes they give away stuff for free. But we didn’t go to the morning stuff, we just went around 2 pm 
of course most of the cheap stuff already gone. But we still got some good deals.
yippiiiiie he bought me the GPS system for my car. So I won’t get lost anymore. The cool thing about this gift is, this thing can play movie and mp3! so happy!! and it was on sale too! :) Thanks honey!!! I love you….

Yey…. finally.. long weekend!
First thing first, I need to talk about my dilema about having a birthday in December. I don’t like it, why? because I always get 2-in-1 presents! what’s that mean? It means people will give you 1 present as your birthday and Christmas present! 
arghhhhhh the thing is… I always feel sad if someone gave me 2-in-1 present but I will feel bad if someone spend too much money on me. So I really don’t know what to say or do. I told Carson I want the Canon EOS Rebel for my birthday but that thing will cost about 400-ish (used one). But there are still other stuff that I want for Christmas… but yet I already feel guilty if he spent that much money on me. Oh well…
Next, after work I went to the Indonesian thanksgiving dinner with Ramona and the gank in Des Moines, one of the Indonesian lady and her husband hosted it. We got there by 6:30pm but there were still food!! yeyyy!!! she made chicken rice, turkey, chicken, mashed potato, green bean casserole, and stuffing. They’re so yummy!! and I got a chance to hang out with my indonesian buddies. It’s fun.. ringga was there too!
Woohooo…. we had our Arisan (potluck) today. it was fun!!! Alrighty here are the pictures… enjoy girls!!!
Thanks everyone who came to make this happened!! We ate good food!! yumm we should do it every month… and the gift exchange stuff… it’s awesome! I got the newest glade scented oil candles!
Anyway.. Thanks to Erica who actually helped me to company Carson (basically get him out of the house) while we’re preparing and cleaning.
Thank you so much for my hubby wubby, who was actually went to work to stay out from the house… hehe I think it’s for the best. you don’t want to see 14 of ‘destris’ running around and talk all the time in the house.
So happy .and full.. and I have some leftover for tonight too YUM!!!
Today we had potluck at my office… I love potluck It’s like you spent 5 bucks and you can eat whatever :). And usually most of my co-workers bring good food.
Everyone brought an item, but I was so impressed with Tanner’s Pineapple Dip.. it’s so awesome. It’s basically pineapple with cream cheese, onion, and garlic powder. It’s so yumm!!! I stole some of it to share it with Carson. heheheheh
I tried to clean as much as possible today and do the dishes and cleaned the guest bedrooms since I will host another potluck this saturday.. so far we have about 14 indonesian girls total who will come to the potluck. Seems like Ames is short of indonesian people. Usually we have 300 students in ames, now we only have probably 80 students. Good thing about this, there’s no ‘gang’ (groups) all of us hang out together since there’s no choice of picking who will be your friends.
Well I guess you could, but probably you will ended up like me… I only have very few what I call good friends. Friends who will understand if I can’t call them every single day, a friend who will understand if I say I will call them back and I forgot to do it… and still okay about it. Friends who I can call and just to scream “IT’s FRIDAY!! It’s FRIDAY” or “I’m Craving for Mie Tek Tek (Indonesian food)” and then I hang up hehehehe.
I finally have the time to work on the christmas program for the church back home.. so hopefully no changes… I do hate changes with passion! heheheheh

Today I came to work in a costume… my costume is Maid in Ames. Hehehehhehe.. well some people at the office came to work in a costume too but some did not. I brought Halloween Punch & Cookies today. I got this cool recipe from allrecipes.com how to make it since in Indonesia we don’t really celebrate or do anything fun on halloween. So halloween punch is basically a mixture of Grape & Orange Kool-Aid plus sugars, water, and Ginger-Ale. And for the ice, I bought a disposable gloves, wash it and filled it with water and frozed it so it looks like there’s a floating hand in the punch.
Oh well.. but we had fun… we took some pictures, you can view it here.
So I went home and I thought that I have to sleep late tonight since we have a potluck tomorrow and I’m making 2 dishes and I have to work tonight. But for some reason I can managed opening the door while cooking still in my maid costume! I’m making Veggie Fried Rice and Crescent Mummy Dogs.

Even one of my cousins didn’t recognize me. I walked up to him and just say hi and stand in front of him. He was like “I do know you…. I really do… hold on.. I know your name… let me think” Even his mom (my aunt) thought that I was his friend… she didn’t even recognized me… it was fun!!!
I walked to the bride and groom, and I asked her do you know me, and she said No… hahahahahah so much fun!
We got home.. and for some reason I’m in the mood for cleaning up some junks.. I have no idea why I started cleaning at the first place… anyhow.. after throwing bunch of junks.. I started working on Carson’s work stuff.. while I was designing stuff for Carson.. he assembled the dining table.. I love it! now we don’t know where to put the old dining table. We still want to keep it just in case if we will ever host an event.. so we can have more tables.. we will figure it out tomorrow..

Since a lot of Indonesian don’t know what’s a baby shower… I know some of my friends don’t even know what’s bridal shower… they even made me cook on my bridal shower (the one in Ames) and they didn’t bring any gifts.. I think only 2 of them brought gifts. Either they really don’t know.. or they pretend that they don’t know.. hmm….
This weekend was a busy weekend… we have our family stayed at our house. Erica & the boys came on Thursday night and mom & dad came yesterday. We had so much fun.. Saturday we went to the Indian restaurant in Ames, and at night I cooked variety of Asian food. It turned out pretty good. I couldn’t believe that I actually cooked 4 dishes in like 1-1.5 hrs (with the help from mom & blayke.. and carson too).
Today we went to the Olde Main Brewery for Father’s day brunch buffet.. It was awesome! for father’s day gift all of us bought dad (my father-in-law) a new computer. And since the computer is not here yet we decided to make a card for him. After they left we took a nap for an hour and then we went to Best Buy and got Carson’s birthday gift! his birthday is not till Tuesday but Tuesday is my busiest day of the week… so we decided to celebrate it earlier.
