My Daily Day 2

Iowa State opened the college football season with a 45-43 triple overtime win over Toledo.  I was hoping to go to the game, but at the last minute I was unable to find anyone to go with.  Probably, should stay home anyway to watch over Timmy since Destri is at work.

I wanted to say a word about overtimes in college football.  In overtime each team gets a shot at the endzone on a much shorter field.  Yet, the stats they occur counts as normal stats.  So Bret Meyers got  3 extra TD’s since they ended up tied.  You can get some crazy stats doing this.  Meyers ended up with 5 TDs.  Eli Manning once had 5 TDs in overtime alone.  It would be like if they brought the fences in 200 feet for extra innings of baseball and counted homeruns the same.  It is exciting to watch but it messes up the stats.  Anyway Cyclones won!
